Another way to add a living room feel to your home is the addition of solar lamps. I am not talking about those cheap lights that people have along their driveway. I am referring to lamps that you would be comfortable with displaying in your home.
One of the things that will set a home apart is the choice made when selecting outdoor furniture. Regardless of the landscaping and other attractive features that may be in the outdoor space, old or unsightly furniture will spoil the overall effect. Some homes have beautiful patios made of brick or other materials, but it is the furniture that will present viewers, as well as the homeowner, with a completed and attractive area for relaxing or enjoying a visit with friends.
Birdhouses and garden gnomes are fine if you don't mind having the same garden decor everyone else has. If you're looking for a way to express your unique personal style, though, don't just settle for the ideas you get from your local home and garden store. Take home a few of these less common decor pieces and make your backyard truly your own.
To create a nature themed backyard, items such as bird baths, bird feeders, and a small vegetable, flower, or herb garden help set the tone for a naturalistic back yard retreat. Wind chimes, a fire pit, and rustic furniture give a back yard a mountain retreat type atmosphere. Gnomes, woodland creature statues, and rustic solar lights all enhance the nature theme.

Finally, place your feeders in a spot that other animals, like squirrels and raccoons, can't get to. Place the feeders on tall shepherd's hooks or posts with baffles on them so the animals can't climb up to the feeders.
